HOW IT WORKS
1. Chemistry Check
The coach and client meet to see if they are a “match”. This is the time to set out how the coaching works – for instance, what methodology the coach uses and would psychometric testing help?
2. Three Way Meeting
The coach, client and sponsor conduct a three-way meeting to agree the purpose of the coaching from an organisational perspective.
3. Explore
The first session explores the territory the client wants to address along with setting goals for the rest of the programme.
4. Goals
At the start of each session the coach and client clarify and frame the goals to work on. At the end, the coach and client agree actions to focus on between sessions.
5. Duration
There will be six 90-minute to two-hour coaching sessions – or whatever is practical for the client. The first two should be two weeks apart, with gaps of three to four weeks between subsequent sessions.
6. Review
When the coaching is finished the sponsor, coach and client review the programme.
Developing clear approaches to the complex issues
I’m Dara Lawlor. I’ve worked as a management consultant for nearly 20 years. I’m a trained executive coach and help senior managers and executives transition into and perform in very challenging environments. I also train and support blue chip business development teams to improve their performance across the entire commercial cycle in order to increase their win rates. As a keen sportsman I get a kick out of performing as well as I can, whatever the circumstances. I provide my clients with the environment and tools that helps them find their form. My vision for them is that they win by taking responsibility for their own success.
