What are the next steps if you’re interested in the Words That Win business writing training programme?

Business Writing Training Next Steps

You’ve gone through the product page, read the information article and like what you see. What happens now?

This article shows you the entire process from start to finish so that you know what you’re going to get if you hire me. Below I walk you through the ten steps I use to design and deliver a business writing training programme that works for you.

Before we start working together we’ll have a chat – probably over Zoom or whatever you use – so that I can find out more about you and your team’s training needs and if I can deliver them.  It’s important to work out if we’re a good fit because I’m only interested in working with clients I can genuinely help.

I’ll also ask about your budget and give you an indication of what I charge.

Once we get past stage one, I will send you a questionnaire.  If you have already conducted a training needs analysis that will be useful too.   The more information I have, the easier it will be to design a programme that is right for you and your team.  There’s no point in me delivering a ‘one-size-fits-all’ training programme if a chunk of it isn’t relevant.

Once I’m clear on your requirements I’ll send you a quote, which should be similar to the figure we discussed on our introductory call.   My fee will be  based on my skills and experience.  It includes not just the time delivering the training but also the preparation, research and meetings conducted in advance.

Using the information from the questionnaire and initial call I’ll start my research.  I’ll request samples of the delegates’ work.  I’ll also want to know about any relevant live or upcoming projects that your delegates will be working on.  Nothing focuses a training delegate more than working on content that is relevant to the ‘here and now’.  That will make it easier for me to tailor the programme content.

Once I’ve finished the research I’ll be in a good position to put together a draft of the programme design.  Once I’m happy it’s fit for purpose I’ll send it on to you for feedback

As soon as you’ve gone through the programme design you can let me know what you think and whether I’ve missed something.   I’ll then update it with the changes.

Once we’re happy with the programme design we can go through the delegate list to make sure that the right people are in the room and whether the training is suitable for them.  This is important as people who are there for ‘entertainment’ or ‘the craic’ can damage the energy in the room, disrupt the other attendees and deprive them of the learning they desire.

I will send each delegate a welcome email.  It will contain the agenda, programme content, a questionnaire about their own expectations as well as information about what they will need to bring along each day.

This is all about the training delegates, not me. The workshops are practical, energetic and action-based. They are designed to reflect your operational environment and focus on your everyday experiences. There is an element of theory, but the delegates will work hard and collaborate on real-life examples and opportunities.

After the workshops are over we can sit down and go through all the feedback and issues identified.  The most important thing here will be to capitalise the new learning.

So that’s it.  If this all makes sense to you and you’ve gone through all of the other information about the programme on the website you can click on the link below to schedule our first chat.
